Therefore, I decided to write this shaman PvP guide, to make everyone understand all the aspects of playing this class in arena or battlegrounds. In this article I will reveal the role of a shaman in any PvP situation.

The basics of playing a shaman in PvP

As a first step of this shaman PvP guide, I will focus on the basic characteristics of the gameplay that a shaman must perform in PvP. No matter the spec, the first thing that a shaman must know for arena is how to use the totems at maximum, in order to improve his contribution in a team, as well as his team mates performance. Another important thing for a shaman to know is when to use their heroism (or bloodlust, if horde). When a team is attacking or defending an objective and faces a heavy opposition, or in arena when the team needs to kill 1-2 opponents fast, Bloodlust/Heroism is very handy. Hey i need help deciding between a ele shaman or balance druid for pvp and some pve. I had real good experience with both classes and if i duel spec i would go resto for both of them. I like big crits and i know that shamans may take a little more skill. But i want a class that needs skill. Im up for the challenge. So what should i pick a Shaman or Druid?

You’ll come to love Shamans in World of Warcraft (WoW). They are excellent in combat, can do nearly everything with particular style.

Not only can Shamans cast more than 30 different totems, they can also use Windfury and swords to slice n dice opponents with ease. Plus, they can heal themselves fully with a few well-timed totems.

A Shaman’s Grounding Totem will disrupt attacks. Earthshock will interrupt attacks. Poison Cleanse will remove poisons as they are cast. They can dispel attacks, keep Rogues out of combat, absorb the Warrior’s Intercept and slow a Hunter. Generally, they have something in their bag of totems for everyone.
